It is celebrated by Hindus bathing in sacred rivers, as they believe that river goddess Ganges descended to earth on Vaisakhi from savrga.Baisakhi, also known as Vaisakhi marks the Sikh New Year and is a spring harvest festival celebrated in Punjab and other parts of North India. In Punjab, Baisakhi marks the harvest of the rabi crops and farmers pay their tribute by thanking God for an abundant harvest, which is a symbol of prosperity.
The class 1st and 2nd students were dressed in punjabi attire and class 3rd and 4th students performed on various dance items while class 5th students recited poems on Baisakhi.The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the children of this culture and heritage.
While speaking on the occasion Mr. Daljeet Rana, Principal of CT public school, said Baisakhi is not only a harvest festival but also an auspicious day as on this day Guru Gobind Singh had established the " Khalsa Panth". Vice Principal Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur appreciated the efforts of students.
