National School Safety Programme (NSSP) is a 100% centrally demonstrative project. It is being implemented by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with Ministry of Human Resource Development on pilot basis in 43 districts of 22 states/UTs of the country falling in seismic zone IV & V. 200 schools from each of 43 districts are targeted under this project.
A meeting was conducted with the members of National School Safety Program at CT Public School to promote a culture of safety in the school. The following members attended the meeting :-

The main objective of NSSP is to initiate policy level changes for ensuring safe school environment and to sensitize children and the school community on disaster preparedness and safety . Various ways and means to implement the program were discussed among all the members for betterment of School.
Different clubs framed for NSSP were introduced to committee members
and the purpose behind their working was illustrated.
The Committee members were urged to assist in different activities and drills to be conducted in school for sensitisation of Students about different conditions on disaster.Emphasis was laid on participation of key stakeholders in activities and drills.
The Principal, Mr Daljeet Rana and Vice Principal, Ms Sukhdeep Kaur stated that the main vision of-the activities to be conducted at school is to develop a culture of disaster preparedness in students.
The meeting was very purposeful and ended on a positive note.
