CT Public School observed *Shaheedi Gurpurab* by distributing Shabeel i.e, distribution of traditional sherbet which marks the custom of the Sikh community celebrating Shaheedi Gurpurab where Guru Arjun Devji, the fifth Sikh Guru, stood by his convictions and accepted death with grace.
Guru Arjun Dev Ji was made to sit on a burning pan when he refused to embrace Islam and marry a Mughal princess. To help him control the heat, chilled sherbets were served to people where they prayed and participated in a host of religious events.
In order to teach the students about community service, the school organized Shabeel distribution. There was an overwhelming response from the students and teachers who contributed towards the Shabeel. The students and staff stopped the passersby to serve sweetened water to beat the scorching heat. Campus Director Ms. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Principal Mr.Daljeet Singh , Vice Principal Ms. Sukhdeep Kaur and Kindergarten In Charge Ms. Neena Sethi were also participated wholeheartedly in this event. Mr. #Daljeet Singh in his message said, “The students should adopt the lessons and values taught by our Gurus and serve the masses wholeheartedly because *Service to mankind is service to God.”
