*Days of joy, weeks of laughter months of good luck and years of prosperity*
CT kindergarten organised a special assembly on 13th January 2020. The function was graced with the presence of Principal Mr. Daljeet Rana and Vice-principal Mrs. Sukhdeep kaur. Functions and festivals are the lifeline of the Punjabi culture .Punjab is known as the land of five rivers and have varied festivals and cultures. Lohri is one the most welcoming festival which is celebrated in punjab with great enthusiasm. The festival of *Lohri* marks the beginning of the end of winter and the coming of spring and the new year. The Lohri bonfire is symbolic of our old method of protecting ourselves as well as a firm of fire worship. The ancient significance of the festival is both as a winter crop season celebration and a rememberance of the sun deity (Surya) .
Lohri songs mention the Indian sun God asking for heat and thanking him for his return . Other legends explain the celebration as a folk reverence for fire (Agni) or the goddness of Lohri. Students of U.K.G
Alish and Dilneet performed a beautiful dance on Punjabisongs, group dance was performed by U.K.G children. Speech was delivered by Aarav Nanda.
Overall it was a fun-filled activity.
*HAPPY LOHRI*
